In addition to town centre shopping, Banbridge provides designer names at discounted prices at the Outlet shopping centre,1 mile from the town and easily accessible by shuttle bus. During your visit to Banbridge Buskfest take some time to absorb our rich heritage. The distinctive bridge in the town centre, locally known as the Cut was built in 1834 to ease the journey of the horse drawn mail coach from Belfast to Dublin. The historic Church Square area is the location for the Crozier Monument and birthplace of Captain Crozier (1776 – 1848) who discovered the Northwest Passage.
In the heart of the town centre, the River Bann flows through Solitude Park and offers visitors the opportunity to relax in the beautiful natural setting. Families can enjoy the recently opened Dance Zone and children's play park for our younger visitors.
If you have a bit more time to spend in and around the town take a short trip to the F.E. McWilliam Gallery and Studio just 1 mile from the town centre, dedicated to the memory of Banbridge-born sculptor Frederick Edward McWilliam, one of Ireland’s most influential and successful artists. The gallery and studio house a collection of the sculptors work in exhibition space and a sculpture garden as well as hosting touring exhibitions and regular events.
